I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Music, and in 2010 with a Master's of Music in Oboe Performance. Currently I'm pursuing an MPhil in Music History at the University of Oxford, New College.
This is my life reduced mostly to its double reed components.
For the tip of the reed, especially in the first scrapes, angle the knife, but still push straight up. It gives you a clear, inverted-v tip, but it's much gentler on the corners than actually scraping at an angle.
